Frequently asked questions
Is it suitable for both dogs and cats?
Yes. It's the same product for both; only the amount changes, and that depends on weight. For a cat or a dog under 10 kg it's 3 g a day (about 5 ml with the scoop).
What is Ovopet® and what does it add compared with other joint supplements?
Ovopet® is eggshell membrane from EGGNOVO, a company based in Navarre. It naturally provides collagen, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and chondroitin in a single matrix, rather than adding them separately. This product contains 150 mg per 3 g, on top of the glucosamine and chondroitin that are added separately.
How much do I give and how long does a tub last?
3 g a day under 10 kg, 6 g from 10 to 20 kg, 9 g from 20 to 30 kg, 12 g from 30 to 40 kg and 15 g over 40 kg. The tub holds 150 g: about 50 days for a cat or a small dog and about 25 days for a medium dog.
I already give a joint supplement in tablet form. Why a powder?
Because there's no battle to get it swallowed. It mixes into the daily food, dry or wet, and has a natural chicken aroma. It's the reason most often given by owners switching from tablets.
Is it only for older animals, or can younger ones have it too?
It is designed for senior or very active animals. If your dog is younger and you'd like to start early, talk to your vet first so they can adjust the amount.
Can I combine it with another supplement or with my pet's medication?
Check with your vet first, especially if your pet already takes something for the joints, so you don't double up on the same active ingredients.
