Frequently asked questions
What exactly does it contain?
Each capsule, which is the daily dose, contains 200 mg of nicotinamide riboside chloride (172 mg of nicotinamide riboside, NR) and 102.04 mg of 98 % trans-resveratrol from Polygonum cuspidatum root, equivalent to 100 mg of trans-resveratrol. The rest is maize starch, magnesium stearate as an anti-caking agent and the gelatine capsule. It doesn't contain NAD+ as such: nicotinamide riboside is a precursor, one of the substances from which the body makes NAD+.
What is NAD+ with resveratrol for?
Neither nicotinamide riboside nor trans-resveratrol has any authorised health claim in the European Union, so no benefit can be attributed to them, by us or by anyone else. We tell you what it contains, in what amount and in what form; what we won't do is make you a promise.
What is resveratrol?
It is a polyphenol produced by some plants; in the diet it is found, in small amounts, in the skin of red grapes. The one in this product is trans-resveratrol extracted from Polygonum cuspidatum root with a purity of 98 %: of every 102.04 mg of extract, 100 mg is trans-resveratrol.
How much does it contain? Isn't that too much?
As a reference we use the maximum daily amounts the EU sets for these ingredients as novel foods in supplements for adults: 300 mg of nicotinamide riboside chloride and 150 mg of trans-resveratrol. One capsule provides 200 mg and 100 mg, below both. That's why the dose is one capsule a day and no more: with two, both maximums would be exceeded.
How and when should I take it?
1 capsule a day with a glass of water. The product page doesn't set a time: choose one that's easy for you to remember and stick to it. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
When will I notice the effects?
We can't promise you any effect or a timeframe for noticing it: these ingredients have no authorised claims. Be wary of anyone who tells you how many weeks it will take to notice something specific with them.
Can I take it with other supplements?
If you already take another nicotinamide riboside supplement (often sold as "NAD+" or "NR") or a resveratrol supplement, don't add them together on your own: the maximums of 300 mg of nicotinamide riboside chloride and 150 mg of trans-resveratrol a day count everything you take in supplements. With a typical product of 300 mg of nicotinamide riboside chloride plus this one you would reach 500 mg of the chloride, well above. Nicotinamide riboside is related to vitamin B3: if you take another supplement with vitamin B3 (niacin or nicotinamide), ask your doctor or pharmacist first. Our Focus Complex contains vitamin B3: if you take it, ask your doctor or pharmacist first.
What if I take medication?
Persons taking medicines should only consume the product under medical supervision: that is what the product page states. This is especially important if you take anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs. Tell your doctor or pharmacist before you start and show them the composition on this page.
Who should not take it?
It is a product for adults. It is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you have any condition or are about to have surgery, ask your doctor or pharmacist first. The product page also states that prolonged use is not recommended: if you plan to take it continuously, discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist.
How long does a pack last and how much does it cost per day?
60 capsules: 60 days at 1 capsule a day, about 0.27 € a day.
Is it suitable for vegans? Does it contain gluten?
It is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians: the capsule is made of gelatine of animal origin. The product page declares it gluten-free, GMO-free and free from common allergens; if you have a diagnosed allergy or intolerance, check the full ingredients list.
How should I store it?
In a cool, dry place away from direct light, with the container tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
